Trump says US ‘on time with the tariffs’ on Canada and Mexico

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Donald Trump, asked on Monday whether tariffs would be placed on Canadian and Mexican goods when the deadline for a pause on such action arrives next week, reiterated his view that the United States had been mistreated by its neighbors and allies.

“We’re on time with the tariffs, and it seems like that’s moving along very rapidly,” he said at the White House. “We’ve been mistreated very badly by many countries, not just Canada and Mexico. We’ve been taken advantage of.”
