A note from our friends at Goldco(ad)

Every American Should Unlock Their IRA/401k In 2026

Most Americans have no idea their Retirement Plan is locked down.

Let’s say you’re at a restaurant – you can order anything you want, as long as it’s on the menu.

But what if you found out you have a fish allergy, and you’re at a seafood restaurant?

Because if you’ve had an employer 401(k), then you remember seeing the options:

You can invest in anything you want, as long as it’s on the menu. Same thing with many IRA plans.

But what happens if everything on the menu can make you sick?

That’s what many Americans are facing right now. Because whether you order the S&P Index Fund, the 60/40 Stocks and Bonds mix, or any other combination on the menu…

All the ingredients come from the same kitchen – the stock market.

And you already know the stock market has made people sick.

The ups and downs can be nauseating.

Now that’s not a problem if you’re a few decades away from retirement, because you can ride out the storm, and things could likely turn in your favor.

But when you’re already retired, or about to retire, then the game changes.

Because it’s not about growing your assets anymore, it’s about preserving your assets, right?

That means if you have $1 million saved for retirement…

Then you expect that million to pay for your travel, gifts, visits to family and grandkids…

For the rest of your life. Literally! And that’s a great plan.

So how do you tackle the problem?

You could hope the stock market rockets up again, and grows your retirement…

Or you could look at assets that help defend against inflation.

Except the problem is, many IRAs and 401(k)s can be locked out of inflation-defending assets.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Because right now, thousands of Americans have figured out how to UNLOCK their IRA/401(k) so they can diversify a portion of their retirement savings into assets that help defend against inflation.

That’s why we put together this free guide.

It’s a brief, to-the-point handbook that shows you:

  • The IRS Rule That Lets You Access Locked Retirement Funds
  • Who Really Controls Your Retirement Savings
  • How To Transition To An Unlocked IRA

And it’s completely free to get a copy.

So what you do with your retirement savings is your business, but at the very least, you should be educated about your options.

But of course, the choice is yours.

Tesla Earnings Tonight, SpaceX’s Blowout Quarter Rewrites the Deal Math

Analyst Targets

  • Morgan Stanley – Hold, $400 price target (reiterated ahead of tonight)
  • Jefferies – Hold, $400 (raised from $350, Oct. 12)
  • JP Morgan – Neutral, $415 (trimmed from $445, Sept. 28)
  • Goldman Sachs – Neutral, $360 (Sept. 16)
  • Tigress Financial – Buy, $550
  • GLJ Research – Sell, $24.86

Wall Street holds a Moderate Buy consensus across 27 analysts, with an average price target around $404.87, implying roughly mid-teens upside from recent levels. Shares have declined about 21% year-to-date.

Two Stories, One Evening

Tesla reports Q3 results after the close tonight. That was already the week’s most-watched earnings event. Then, on Tuesday night, Elon Musk turned SpaceX’s earnings call into something far larger.

On the call, Musk said a merger with Tesla would be a “good idea,” adding that the boards of both companies have formed special committees to discuss a tie-up. The committees were formed at the request of shareholders and consist of independent directors, and because Musk is a “conflicted party,” he said he cannot be in the discussions. He is recused from both sides of a deal he publicly supports.

That is the context arriving tonight. Tesla’s Q3 numbers will be judged not just against consensus but against a potential acquirer that just posted one of the most dramatic quarters in U.S. corporate history.

Elon Musk’s 5-Word Message Could Be Worth a FORTUNE to Investors

It will go down as the most important announcement Elon Musk has ever made.

And for investors who know how to play it, it could create a fortune in the coming years.

What SpaceX Just Reported

SpaceX reported Q3 revenue of $14.6 billion against expectations of about $12.7 billion, with EPS of 35 cents per share, and net income of $4.4 billion. In the same period a year earlier, SpaceX reported a net loss of about $1.05 billion.

Revenue from the Super Intelligence segment reached about $7.56 billion, up roughly 830% year-over-year, accounting for approximately 52% of total revenue and becoming the company’s largest revenue source for the first time. Total connectivity revenue jumped 69% to $5.25 billion. Adjusted EBITDA increased 306% to $8.8 billion.

SpaceX’s backlog stands at $63 billion, with $42 billion expected to be recognized as revenue within the next 12 months. That is the balance sheet a merger committee now has to value against Tesla’s.

SpaceX’s balance sheet carries weight beyond its backlog. Apollo and a broad pool of bond investors are financing a $40 billion Nvidia GPU purchase that underpins SpaceX’s AI segment valuation.

Tesla’s Numbers Tonight

Tesla is expected to post earnings of about $0.45 per share on revenue of about $28.1 billion. In the same quarter a year earlier, the company reported $0.50 per share on revenue of $28.10 billion. This is not a growth quarter by any standard measure.

In Q2, Tesla came in at $0.33 against a roughly $0.51 to $0.53 consensus, as its operating margin collapsed to 1.4%. Automotive gross margin excluding regulatory credits dropped to 16.3% in Q2 from 19.2% in Q1. Margin recovery is the single most important number on tonight’s release.

The options market is pricing in roughly a 7.5% move in either direction in TSLA in reaction to Q3 results. That range widens considerably if the merger discussion dominates the call.

Why the Merger Changes Tesla’s Earnings Model

The exchange ratio in any stock-for-stock merger flows directly from each company’s valuation at the time a deal is structured. A higher SpaceX valuation would shape any exchange ratio Tesla holders are offered. SpaceX shares rose after-hours Tuesday following the results and merger commentary.

The committees have not agreed on terms, and Musk said assuming a merger is a certainty would be overstating it. Any deal would go to shareholders, and on the Tesla side it would need approval from 50% of all outstanding shares, not just shares voted. Musk called that “quite a high hurdle.”

Still, the formal committee process is new. This is no longer a market rumor. It is a disclosed governance event at both companies simultaneously.

Forward Scenarios

Bull

Tesla beats on automotive gross margin tonight, guiding above 18%. The call reinforces that Optimus robotaxi revenue is accelerating. Merger optionality adds a valuation floor as investors price SpaceX’s AI segment into any combined entity. TSLA retests the $450 to $498 range.

Base

Tesla delivers results in line with a flat-to-low quarter. The merger discussion eclipses the fundamentals on the call. TSLA trades range-bound near $370 to $400 pending committee outcomes and analyst revisions.

Bear

Tesla misses on margin again and provides cautious guidance. Merger complexity is seen as a distraction. A break below the $350 support level risks a deeper pullback toward $300.

Technical Overlay

After hitting a local high in early October and pulling back, TSLA has rebounded into the high-$370s. The stock recently formed a double-bottom pattern near $350, and a breakout above the $390 to $400 resistance zone could target $450. Tonight’s report either confirms that base or breaks it.

Bottom Line

Tonight was always about whether Tesla could stabilize its margins after a damaging Q2. Now it is also about what Tesla shareholders are worth inside a combined company alongside a SpaceX that just generated $4.4 billion in net income, reversing a year-ago loss. Those are two entirely different questions, and the market will try to answer both at 5:30 PM ET. Margin recovery decides the stock. The merger committee decides the story for the next six months.
