Novo Nordisk Beats Estimates. Wegovy Pill Is the Reason.

The company everyone had written off as losing the obesity drug war just delivered its cleanest quarter in over a year.

Cash From Oil in Days. Not Years.

No stocks. No waiting years for a payoff. A former hedge fund manager has a strategy that can turn an oil move into cash in a matter of days, and the chances come up again and again. He calls it “Oil Skimming.” And he’s giving away the entire three-step system for free.

See How

Novo Nordisk reported third-quarter net income of DKK 16.74 billion, or DKK 3.79 per ADR on a reported basis. Adjusted earnings were DKK 5.79 per ADR. Against a consensus that had already built in a steep decline, this was not a marginal beat.

Revenue beat consensus by about 8%, adjusted operating profit by about 11%, and Wegovy pill sales by about 17%. That last figure is the number that matters most.

The Numbers

  • Revenue: 79.2 billion Danish kroner ($11.9 billion), up 4% year-on-year at constant exchange rates, ahead of consensus around 73.4 billion kroner.
  • Adjusted operating profit: 31.72 billion kroner, above consensus around 28.71 billion kroner.
  • Wegovy pill: 5.39 billion Danish kroner ($810 million) in quarterly revenue, above the consensus estimate of about 4.62 billion kroner.
  • Wegovy pill geography: Of the total, 4.18 billion kroner came from the US market, with international markets contributing 1.22 billion kroner.
  • Injectable Wegovy and Ozempic: 20.4 billion kroner and 29.7 billion kroner respectively, also above expectations.

Injectable Wegovy sales fell in the US during the quarter and overall GLP-1 diabetes sales declined at constant exchange rates. The pill is now doing enough volume to offset that erosion outright.

The oral format is now the decisive battleground in GLP-1. Lilly’s own oral GLP-1, Foundayo, introduced a key convenience advantage over Novo’s pill that could shape which drug wins the next wave of patients.

Why the Stock Moved

Novo raised its 2026 adjusted sales and operating profit outlook to a range of -2% to +2% at constant exchange rates, from a previous forecast of a 0% to 6% decline. It was the third time the company raised full-year guidance.

These Two Lines Have Never Been This Far Apart

Gold analyst Garrett Goggin recently uncovered a simple chart stretching back roughly 100 years. It compares expensive growth assets with hard assets – and today those two lines are farther apart than at any other point in the chart’s history. Every previous extreme resulted in enormous wealth for investors with the foresight to buy and hold the best gold stocks. Garrett believes we’re approaching another “Great Rotation” into gold miners – and he’s identified four miners everyone should own beforehand.

Novo Nordisk advanced about 4.6% after reporting third-quarter adjusted operating profit above expectations and raising its full-year sales and profit forecasts. The pan-European STOXX 600 gained about 0.5%. The company is by some distance the largest healthcare name on the index, so its moves carry index weight that few European stocks can match.

The valuation context matters here. At the November 3 Copenhagen closing price of DKK 270.15, the stock traded at roughly 11.5 times earnings. For a business that just grew adjusted operating profit 27% year-on-year at constant exchange rates, that multiple reflects how low expectations had fallen, not fundamental weakness.

Macro and Competitive Context

The Danish company is looking to regain momentum after a challenging year in which it lagged behind US competitor Eli Lilly. Lilly hiked its own full-year outlook last week on the back of a strong third quarter, driven by Mounjaro and Zepbound. Today’s report partially closes that confidence gap.

By the end of Q3, the Wegovy pill had been launched in the US, UAE, UK and Germany. More recently, launches in four additional countries brought the total number of markets to eight. International expansion is now a live growth engine, not a projection.

Bull / Base / Bear

Bull: Wegovy pill adoption continues compounding quarter-over-quarter. As the price reductions implemented during 2026 enter the comparison base, continued pill adoption and international expansion should translate more directly into revenue and recurring earnings growth. Multiple expansion from 11.5x becomes plausible if the pill sustains its trajectory.

Strange “Loophole” Allows Anyone to Collect “SpaceX Royalty” Payouts

Thanks to a little-known loophole…

Mainstreet investors can collect a fair share of a $3.6 billion payout from what Marc Lichtenfeld calls “SpaceX Royalty Shares…”

Base: The revised outlook assumes international sales growth alongside a continuing decline in the US. Ozempic pricing pressure persists, the pill offsets it, and the stock gradually re-rates toward the low-to-mid $40s range.

Bear: The stock fell nearly 8% in one session in September after Novo failed to reassure investors about its post-Wegovy growth strategy. Any deceleration in pill uptake, a competing oral GLP-1 from Lilly, or a renewed pricing shock could reset that debate fast.

Technical Overlay

The 50-day SMA sits at $41.11 and the 200-day SMA at $44.11, with NVO trading below both levels heading into today’s report. A sustained move through $41 would be the first technical confirmation that the Q3 bounce is structural rather than a relief trade. The 200-day at $44 is the level that actually matters for institutions reconsidering their underweight positions.

Bottom Line

This was not a complicated quarter to read. The pill works, adoption is accelerating, international is growing, and management raised guidance for the third time in a year from a base that most analysts had still considered pessimistic. The debate about Novo losing the obesity market was always premature. What determines the next leg is simpler: does oral Wegovy hold its Q3 growth rate into Q4, or does Lilly’s response compress it? That answer arrives in roughly 90 days.
